This is Dave; he is an 18-year-old male currently at a university in Canterbury. He is studying media, and has a part time job in a local clothing store that sells indie/rock clothing. He spends a lot of his time on the computer listening to the rock, indie and punk genres. He is usually on facebook socialising with friends and arranging to go to concerts such as Green day, Blink 182 and Kasabian. He goes to the gym twice a week and usually eats low fat foods. He goes out on the weekends with his friends where he drinks alcohol socially. Dave buys gaming and music magazines weekly; he reads them whilst going to work on the bus. What attracts Dave to a magazine is the main image and how well constructed the front page is, he does not like over crowded front pages as he feels they give the impression of being to gossipy, which is something he does not like as he feels he is gaining information from an unreliable source. Dave usually wears jeans and plain t-shirts casually; he also wears accessories such as bracelets and rings. When Dave goes out to socialize he often wears chinos and shirts. Dave buys his clothes from the store he works in as he gets a staff discount, this leaves him extra pocket money to buy magazines, snacks etc.
Dave is from a family that fits in to the working class (category D in the NRS system) this means that their income may not be very high, leaving them short of money to pay for other expenses. This is why I will price my magazine around the £2.50 mark. I would like to target mainly teenagers for my magazine as I feel they become more hooked to them and will buy weekly.
