Magazine cover one

This is my first magazine cover, the title of my magazine is "Goff's Gossip" i have chosen this title because it attracts my target audience, Goff's pupils aged from 11-18 years, i chose the word "gossip" as it is part of human nature to be attracted to "gossip". I have used small headline boxes to tell the reader what the main story consists of, with page numbers attached to these boxes i am telling the reader where to go to read more. What makes the reader turn to the page is the short phrase "sporting success" as it draws their attention and explains to them in small detail what its about. I have used another headline box giving information on a poll about school uniform that is currently running, this helps attract my target audience as the magazine comes across as being open to all point of views and gives the students the ability to express theirs. I have positioned the two headline boxes either side of the main image, by doing this it has made the image less crowded but not as plain, this then makes the magazine look more professional.

The main image of my magazine is a medium close up of a student from Goff's throwing a javelin, this action shot attracts the reader as it is more interesting than someone standing with a javelin doing nothing.

The price of my magazine is located in the bottom left of the page, it is outlined by an explosion to attract the readers attention but to also show that it is a unique and cheap price. I have chosen this price for my magazine as it physcologically misleads the reader into assuming it is cheap as it is not one pound or above. The bar code positioned in the bottom far right and date positioned in the bottom centre of the page are not very bold as the reader does not need to pay much interest to them.
